These drinks are made with all-natural ingredients like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds that will boost hair growth from within as these healthy ingredients contain all the essential vitamins and minerals to promote hair growth.
Here are some easy recipes to make smoothies at home:
Strawberry smoothie:
Strawberries contain vitamin C that can help the body absorb iron better and promote hair growth. Just like bananas, strawberries too contain some amounts of mineral silica. Vitamin C can help prevent brittle hair and hair breakage and reduce or prevent dandruff formation. Oats are rich in antioxidants and omega-6 fatty acids that can strengthen the hair follicles and prevent hair fall, while preventing the hair from damage.
How to make:
Ingredients:
¼ cup strawberries
1/4 cup oats
½ cup coconut milk
2 dates
Method:
Into a mixer blender, add strawberries, dates, oats, and blend into a fine paste. Then, add in the milk and blend until well combined. Pour into a cup and garnish with almond flakes. It is then ready to be consumed.
Tip: For those who do not like either bananas or strawberries you can use ½ cup of either one fruit and follow the same recipe.
Spinach smoothie:
Spinach is a green leafy vegetable rich in essential nutrients like folate, iron, and vitamins that can help promote hair growth and boost scalp health, in turn promoting better growth of new hair follicles. Matcha powder is rich in antioxidants that help encourage hair growth. Bananas are rich in the mineral ‘silica’. This mineral plays an important role in strengthening hair and preventing the hair from thinning down, as it can also help synthesize collagen production.
Ingredients:
¼ cup banana or avocado slices
½ cup spinach leaves
½ cup coconut milk
1 tsp matcha powder
Sugar or honey to taste ( optional)
Method:
Into a mixer blender, add in the bananas, spinach leaves (wash it properly before use) and sugar or honey to taste and blend into a fine paste. Then, add in the milk/almond milk and blend until well combined. Pour into a cup and it is then ready to be consumed.
Carrot and orange smoothie:
Carrots and oranges are vitamin C-rich and can help the body create collagen that plays an important role in building hair structure. It can also help the body absorb the iron that can promote better hair growth. It can also enhance and promote better blood circulation in the scalp, in turn, stimulating the hair follicles to increase hair growth.
How to make:
Ingredients:
- 1 big carrot
- 1 cup of coconut water or filtered water
- 1 orange
- 1 small ginger
- Sugar/salt to taste
Method:
Chop one or two peeled carrots into small pieces and grind in a mixer blender with one cup of coconut water. You could either add sugar or salt or even a pinch of both, which is totally optional. Add the orange pulp and small piece of ginger and once the mixture is ground to a fine semi-watery liquid you could either strain it and consume or consume as is if you like it pulpy.
Tip: There could also be variations made to this juice by adding ingredients like mint leaves or an apple or even a peach for some added flavour.
Seed and nut smoothie:
Almonds are rich in magnesium and have vitamins and nutrients that can prevent hair damage and reduce and prevent dandruff. Flaxseeds contain vitamin B, which is an important vitamin known to help hair grow stronger and healthier, at a more enhanced rate.
How to make:
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp flaxseed powder
- ½ cup almond milk
- ¼ cup avocado
- Sugar/honey to taste
Method:
For the almonds, soak them in half a cup of hot water for 1 to 2 hours and then remove the skin and set it aside. Blend along with the water to make almond milk.
For the smoothie, into a mixer blender add in the flax seeds, almond milk, avocado, and sugar/honey to taste and blend until it becomes a semi-coarse paste. Pour into a cup and it is ready to consume. READ MORE – GOLDEN WATER RECIPE FOR CLEAR GLOWING SKIN
