5 easy breakfast smoothie recipes:

1. Banana smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 espresso shot (1.5 teaspoon of instant coffee + 2 tablespoon of water)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp Honey ( optional)
  • Ice cubes

Method:

Into a cup, add 1.5 teaspoon of instant coffee + 2 tablespoon of water and mix it really well and keep aside.

Into a blender, add in a banana, vanilla extract, sweetener if required, coffee and milk. Finally add in some ice cubes, blend very well until it becomes a smooth and fine liquid mixture (without lumps). The smoothie is ready to be consumed.

2. Cinnamon smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup yogurt + 1/2 cup water or 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp nut butter
  • Dates – 2-3

Method:

Chop an apple, remove the seeds and add them to a blender jar, followed by cinnamon, milk, deseeded dates and lastly nut butter. Blend along with some ice cubes until it has become a liquid consistency. Garnish with dash of cinnamon and enjoy.

3. Chocolate smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder 
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional – sweetener – 1 tbsp

Method:

Into a mixer blender, add in the chopped mango pieces and honey to taste. Grind until it becomes a fine paste. Then, add in the yogurt and blend until it becomes a smooth and semi-liquid consistency. Pour into a cup and it is ready to consume.

4. Orange smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Honey or maple syrup, to taste

Method:

Peel and orange and add to a blender followed by frozen banana, yogurt, water, vanilla extract and sweetener of your choice. Blend until smooth and serve.

5. Date smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 dates
  • handful of mixed nuts
  • 2 tbsp mixed seeds
  • 1 cup milk
  • dash of salt

Method:

Soak the dates (without the seeds), nuts and seeds in water overnight. In the morning, strain the water and add the dates, nuts and seeds into a mixer blender. Then, add in the milk (you can add in chilled milk or regular milk with ice-cubes if you wish to) and blend until properly combined. Pour into a cup and it is ready to consume. You can garnish with almond slices if you wish to.
