Consuming smoothies for breakfast can be an amazing way to help your body get the nutrition and protein it needs, while it can also help slow down the digestion process and keeps your stomach full longer.

Smoothies are also filling and can suffice for one’s breakfast without needing to have any other items to go with it as well.

Here are four simple weight loss breakfast smoothie recipes:

Apple chia Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 apple

2 tsp cocoa powder

1 cup soy milk

1 tbsp soaked chia seeds

Honey to taste

To make:

The night before, add tbsp of chia seeds in a bowl of water and let it soak overnight. Into a blender, add in the banana or apple (chopped), along with the soy milk (add in chilled milk if you wish to), cocoa powder, soaked chia seeds and some honey to taste.

Blend until it becomes a smooth liquid and the smoothie is ready to consume.

Chickpea Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/4 cup cooked chickpea

1 banana

¼ tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup milk

To make: Add cooked chickpea, banana, milk, into a blender along with dates and blend on high. You can make it into a smoothie bowl or add water and make it into a smoothie consistency. Note: you can substitute water with any other milk of their choice.

The previous night, soak the oats, nuts, seeds in a bowl of water.. The next morning, strain the water and the soaked oats, nuts and seeds into a blender. Add 1 cup of water and 2-3 dates. Blend until smooth and it is ready to consume.

Avocado-Oats Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 avocado

1 cup oat milk

mint or kale leaves

1 tbsp flax seeds

Honey to taste

To make:

To make the smoothie, into a blender, add in the avocado, mint leaves or kale leaves, flaxseeds, oat milk and some honey to taste and blend until it turns into a smooth paste. Then, pour into a smoothie bowl, give it a good mix and it is ready to consume.

The previous night, soak the oats in the milk and keep refrigerated. The next morning, pour the oats and milk mixture into a blender and add in the chopped mango pieces and some honey to taste. Give it a good blend until it becomes a smooth mixture. It is then ready to consume.

Yogurt Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup yogurt

1/4 cup mixed berries

1 tbsp flaxseeds

dates

To make – Add everything to a blender and blend on high until smooth.

Note:

  • Those who are vegan, can substitute cow’s milk with any other milk of their choice.
  • Since the mango is already a very sweet fruit, those who wish to, can skip the honey to avoid the smoothie from becoming extra sweet.
