If you’re thinking about vitamin C for hair growth, then you should be thinking about Amla! Amla is also known as Indian gooseberry and has been used over the years for its multiple health and beauty benefits. This fruit is edible and has a sour taste. It is frequently added into culinary dishes. It can be eaten both raw and cooked.
Amla and Vitamin C:
Amla is loaded with vitamin C and vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can help protect the scalp and hair from oxidative stress and free radical damage and can help create a protein called ‘collagen’ that is an important protein that provides structure to the hair. Vitamin C helps your body absorb iron, which is an essential mineral required for hair and hair growth.
Benefits of amla for hair growth:
Using amla hair growth spray can help promote better hair growth, treat and prevent hair fall very effectively. It can also enhance and promote better blood circulation in the scalp in turn, stimulating the hair follicles from within, to increase hair growth. The vitamin C in amla can help promote better hair strength and reduce hair fall.
Here are two ways you can use an amla hair spray:
- Pre-shampoo hair spray:
Recipe 1: Using fresh amla pieces
- ½ cup fresh amla chopped/ deseeded
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil (optional)
Into a mixer blender, add in the chopped amla pieces and blend into a smooth paste. Then, add in the water and give it a quick blend. Then using a muslin cloth or a fine strainer, strain this amla mixture into a spray bottle, add in the coconut oil or olive oil (optional), shake well and it is ready to use. You can store the surplus amla mixture in the refrigerator for the next use.
For the application: Comb your hair properly and make it free from tangles. Then partition your hair and spray this mask randomly all over your scalp and hair evenly. Once the application process is over, gently massage it in for a few minutes and then tie your hair into a loose bun and cover your head with a shower cap for half an hour before washing off with a mild shampoo and conditioner.
