AYURVEDIC HAIR RINSE FOR THICKER HAIR

Hair rinses are a type of hair treatment which can help strengthen, nourish and moisturize the hair and can prevent or reduce any product buildup on the scalp.

Check out these Ayurvedic hair rinses that can help you get closer to getting that thicker and voluminous hair sooner.

1. Peppermint hair rinse:

Peppermint has antioxidant properties and can help increase the supply of nutrients to the scalp, in turn increasing hair growth by stimulating the hair follicles. Green tea can also help prolong the hair growth phase and clean the scalp and hair follicles.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp of dried peppermint leaves or handful of fresh mint leaves

Method: Into a saucepan, add in the 2 cups of water and peppermint leaves. Let it simmer on low for 5 mins and strain.

How to use:

Remove the leaves and pour the mint water into a spray bottle or a liquid applicator bottle. Use this rinse after you wash and condition your hair. Partition your hair and evenly spray or apply this on your scalp and roots. Gently massage this in for a few minutes. Do not rinse off, just air dry your hair. Once your hair is completely dry, apply a hair serum to moisturize your hair. This rinse can be used once a week.

2. Neem hair rinse:

Neem is cooling for the scalp and has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. It can help in the easy control of dandruff. Neem helps stimulate the hair follicles and encourages hair growth.

Ingredients:

  • 2 stalks of neem leaves
    (Approximately 20 leaves)
  • 500 ml water

Method:

Into a heating pot, add in 500 ml of water and the neem leaves (these leaves should be washed thoroughly before using it). Boil it until the colour of the water changes. Then turn off the flame and let it sit for some time until the liquid cools completely. Then strain this water into a spray can or liquid applicator can.

How to use:

Use this rinse before you wash your hair. Partition your hair and evenly spray or apply this on your scalp and roots. Gently massage this in for a few minutes. Leave this rinse on for around 20 to 30 minutes. Cover your head with a shower cap, after gently draining out the excess water in your hair. Then wash off with a mild shampoo and conditioner. This rinse can be used once or even twice a month. READ MORE – NATURAL EASY TO MAKE HAIR GROWTH SHAMPOO RECIPE

3. Hibiscus hair rinse:

Hibiscus hair rinse can help you reduce the oil secretion by the sebaceous glands (and can prevent dandruff formation) and acts like a natural astringent. It gives the scalp a cooling effect and also stimulates the blood flow on the scalp. Over the years hair sometimes loses its luster and volume. The amino acids in hibiscus will help in promoting hair growth by the production of keratin, a protective protein of the hair, which makes it thicker and avoids it from breaking.

Ingredients:

  • 10 to 15 fresh or dired hibiscus petals
  • 2 cups of water

Method:

Into a heating pot, add in water and the hibiscus petals (these petals should be washed thoroughly before using it). Boil it until the color of the water changes and the petals begin to shrink and look soggy. Then turn off the flame and let it sit for some time until the liquid cools completely. Then strain this water into a spray can or liquid applicator can.

How to use:

Use this rinse before you after your hair wash. Partition your hair and evenly spray or apply this on your scalp and roots. Gently massage this in for a few minutes. You can rinse it off with plain water or just leave it on. Air dry your hair and style as usual. This rinse can be used once or even twice a week.
