1. Aloe Vera:

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp aloe vera gel
  • 2 tbsp rice water

Method:

In a small mixing bowl, add in the aloe vera gel and rice water and mix it into a smooth paste. You an also add it to a blender and blend for a smooth finish. Apply this onto your wet scalp and hair (using downward strokes), after you finish shampooing it and gently massage it in and then let it sit for 5 minutes before washing off, until there is no residue left. If you have dry hair then add 1 tsp of any light weight hair oil like coconut oil or argan oil.

2. Honey:

Honey contains antioxidants which can help protect the hair from damage and help reduce frizziness. It is a natural humectant (moisture preserving agent) and can help retain moisture and keep the hair from drying. It can make the hair soft and improve its texture and reduce split ends.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp organic honey

Method:

In a small mixing bowl, add in the coconut milk and honey and mix it into a smooth paste. Apply this onto your hair and the ends to prevent split ends. Let it sit for 5 mins and rinse off.

  • 1/4 cup of cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup of water or rice water
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or any other light weight hair oil

Method:

Into a mixer grinder, add in the cooked rice and water along with the hair oil and blend until it turns into a fine pasty liquid. If you find the mixture too thick, add in little water to this mixture. Then, strain this mixture into a bowl for a smooth finish. After shampoo, squeeze off the excess water from the hair. Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup fenugreek/methi seeds
  • 1 cup of water

Method: In a bowl add in the fenugreek/methi seeds along with 1 cup of water and leave it overnight. The next day, add the seeds along with water in a saucepan and simmer on low for 5 mins.

Apply the water onto your scalp and hair and gently massage it in. Leave it on for 5 mins and rinse off.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar:

The pH level of hair is between 4.5 and 5.5, as there is oil on the scalp known as sebum, secreted by the sebaceous glands. The acidity in the hair prevents bacteria from growing on the scalp, leaving the hair cuticle closed and healthy. Alkaline substances can cause the hair cuticle to open, which makes the hair look frizzy. Closed cuticles result in flat and smooth hair shafts that remain shiny, soft and manageable, as it locks in the moisture in your hair shaft.   • 1 cup of filtered water
  • ⅛  cup or 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
    (Raw and unfiltered)

Method:

In a cup of filtered water, add in the apple cider vinegar and mix it well.

Add this mixed apple cider vinegar and water solution into a spray bottle and spray it all over your scalp and hair evenly. When applying it on your hair, use downward strokes and gently rub it in. Then, let it sit for 10 minutes before rising off with plain water.
