CLEAR AND GLOWING SKIN TEA RECIPES

Hibiscus and Rose tea for glowing skin:

Hibiscus and Rose tea helps in improving one’s complexion, skin tone and makes the skin smoother. It can also help prevent signs of aging and increase cell turnover. This tea is beneficial in controlling acne and breakouts.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 to 4 dried rose petals
  • 2 to 4 dried hibiscus petals

Method:

Into a cup, add in hot water and the dried hibiscus and rose petals, stir well. Let it sit for 10 minutes. This will let the hibiscus and rose petals get infused into the water. Then strain this into a cup and it is ready to consume.

Chamomile tea for healthy skin:

Chamomile tea has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can help provide relief to skin irritations and can help heal scars, minimize the effects of aging and can also prevent breakouts and acne.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp dried chamomile flowers
    (Or 2 tea bags of chamomile tea)

Method:

Into a cup of hot water, add in the dried chamomile flowers and stir well. Let this sit for four minutes so that the dried chamomile flowers get infused into the water. Then strain this into another cup and it is ready to consume.

Ginger tea soothe irritated skin:

Ginger contains antioxidants that can help preserve the skin’s texture and elasticity. The compound gingerol in ginger can help reduce inflammation and soothe irritated skin and prevent acne and breakouts.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp tea powder or tea leaves
  • 2 tbsp grated ginger
  • Sugar or honey to taste

Method:

Into a heating pot, add in ¾ cup of water, 1 tbsp tea powder or tea leaves and 2 tbsp grated ginger. Let this come to a boil and then let it simmer on low flame for 4 to 5 minutes. Then add in ¼ cup of milk and let it boil for another minute. Turn off the flame; let it sit for 2 minutes before you can strain this into a cup. Add in the sugar or honey if you wish to, stir well and it is ready to consume.

Tip: Those who do not wish to add in milk, use 1 cup of water, instead of ¾ cup.

Cinnamon tea for anti-aging:

Cinnamon tea is rich in antioxidants and can help fight free radical damage and prevent the effects of aging. It promotes blood flow and can promote cell turnover, in turn making your skin look younger and more radiant.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 two inch sticks of cinnamon
  • Honey to taste

Method:

Into a heating pot, add in 1 cup of water and the cinnamon sticks. Let this come to a boil and then let it simmer on low flame for 10 minutes. Turn off the flame; let it sit for 2 minutes before you can strain this into a cup. Add in honey to taste, if you wish to, stir well and it is ready to consume.

Matcha Green tea to clear acne:

Matcha Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce skin irritation, skin redness and swelling. It can help improve skin elasticity, moisturize the skin, fights acne and slow down the aging process. It can also help protect the skin against sun damage.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 tsp match green tea
  • Honey (optional)

Method:

Into a cup, add in the hot water and matcha green tea powder. Whisk thoroughly using a bamboo whisk until the powder is well combined with the water. You can add in honey to taste, stir and consume it.

Triphala tea:

Triphala is a powder made of three fruits – Indian Gooseberry or Amla, black myrobalan or haritaki (called kaala harad in Hindi) and belleric Myrobalan or bahera (called belerik harad in Hindi). Triphala tea has anti-inflammatory properties and can help cure certain skin issues, protect skin cells and can help rebuild skin protein. It can also retain the moisture in the skin and keep the skin healthy and moisturized.

  • 1 cup hot water
  • ¼ tsp triphala powder
  • Honey (optional)

Method:

Into a cup, add in the hot water and ¼ tsp of triphala powder and stir well. Cover this mixture and keep this for 2 hours and let it sit, so that all the ingredients can get infused into the water. Add in honey if you wish to, stir well and it is ready to consume.
