WINTER REMEDIES

Sore throat remedy – Prepare a fresh cup of peppermint tea to naturally numb the sore throat and alleviate your pain. Take some fresh mint and add to a cup of water. Pour hot water on it and let it steep for 3-5 mins. Add honey to the mint tea and sip it on while its warm.

Boost immunity – Make infused garlic honey to boost immunity. Garlic contains anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties that is effective to fight seasonal cold and cough. Crush a pod of garlic and add it to a jar. Top the jar with honey and store it in the fridge, let it infuse overnight. Every morning, take a tbsp. of the garlic-infused honey in a cup, add hot water, and drink it every day.

Flu Remedy – Turmeric has antioxidants, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties to help u fight and prevent common cold and flu during winter. To a saucepan, add /2 tsp turmeric powder or 1 tsp of freshly grated turmeric. Add 2 cups of water along with 5 crushed peppercorns. Simmer it on for 5 mins and sip on it warm. You can add a tsp of raw honey to the tea.

Dry Skin – Shea butter is an excellent moisturizer that protects the skin from dryness and also helps to heal the skin. Mix equal quantity of shea butter and aloe vera gel and use it on your face, body, and also under your feet to hydrate, nourish and moisturize dry winter skin.

Cold and Cough Remedy – Make an onion cough syrup, slice onion, and add it to a blender to make an onion paste. Take the onion paste and squeeze out the paste using a strainer or a cheesecloth. Add 1 tbsp. of raw honey to 2 tbsp. of onion juice. Take 1-2 tsp of the cough syrup as needed.

For nighttime cough, apply Vicks vaporub under your feet, cover your feet with a thick pair of socks, and sleep.

Stuffy nose – Steaming helps to loosen the mucus and relieve a stuffy nose. Add a tsp of Vicks to a bowl of boiling water or add a few drops of peppermint essential oil. Hold your head over the bowl of water and slowly inhale the steam.

Dry Hair – Extract fresh aloe Vera gel from the plant and add it to a blender. Add a tbsp. of lightweight oil like argan oil and blend it all together. Pour it in a spray bottle and spray it on your hair after hair wash and throughout the day to keep your hair hydrated.

Winter Tonic – Make a warming winter tonic using cinnamon and turmeric. To a saucepan, add 3 cups of water, add 1 tsp of turmeric, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/4 inch fresh ginger, 1/4 tsp cloves, and a dash of cayenne pepper. boil for 10 mins, Remove from the flame, add juice of half a lemon, honey, and have warm.

Dry Lips – Smooth dry chapped lips and get baby soft lips using ghee or clarified butter on your lips. Mix equal amounts of ghee with raw honey, massage it on your lips, and leave it on overnight. Use it whenever your lips feel dry.
