Exfoliating Ubtan Powder
Ingredients:
- Gram flour or besan – 3 tbsp
- Wheat flour – 2 tbsp
- Wild turmeric powder – 2 tsp
- Yogurt
Method:
Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the wet ingredients (add in the wet ingredients little by little as you want the ubtan to become a thick and not a watery paste). This is going to be a moderate quantity of ubtan mix, which can be stored in a container for future use. You can also make smaller quantities by reducing the quantities for a one time use.
To make the ubtan paste for face application, add yogurt to the ubtan mix and you can also add rose water to make a paste. Spread it out evenly on your face using a brush. Leave it on your face to dry up, for around 15 to 20 minutes. Before washing off, lightly wet your face with a very little water and gently massage your face with rolling motions to exfoliate the skin After this you can wash your face and pat dry with a towel. If you have dry skin add 1 tbsp of any non comedogenic face oils like argan oil, jojoba oil or grapeseed oil.

Brightening Ubtan Powder
Ingredients:
- Orange peel powder – 1 tbsp
- Rice flour – 2 tbsp
- Licorice powder – 1 tsp
- 2 tbsp honey
- Water
Method:
Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the wet ingredients and mix well into a fine paste. Spread it out evenly on your face and also on your body. Leave it on your face to dry up, for around 15 to 20 minutes. After this you can wash your face and pat dry with a towel.

Deep cleaning Ubtan Powder
Ingredients:
- Oats flour – 3 tbsp
- Sandalwood powder – 2 tbsp
- Rose petal powder – 1 tbsp
- Aloe vera gel – 2 tbsp
- Water
Combine these ingredients and store in a box and the wet ingredients will be added only during the time of use.
Wet ingredients for 2 tbsp dry ubtan mix – aloe vera gel or rosewater (for oily or acne prone skin) or milk (for normal or dry skin) or ½ tsp of non comedogenic face oil.
Mix well into a fine paste and add in water if required. Spread it out evenly on your face using a brush. Leave it on your face to dry up, for around 15 to 20 minutes. After this you can wash your face and pat dry with a towel.
Body Polishing Ubtan Powder
Ingredients:
- Gram flour/besan – 1 tbsp
- Sandalwood powder – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Honey – 2 tbsp
- water
Method:
Mix all the powders together into a bowl. Add the honey and water to mix well into a fine paste. Spread it out evenly on your face using a brush.
