10 Delicious Toast Recipes

1. Cottage Cheese Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice whole wheat bread
  • ¼ cup cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon lightly salted pistachios
  • drizzle of honey

Method:

Toast the bread and then top it off with cottage cheese, blueberries, and pistachios. Drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.

2. Peas Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup frozen peas 
  • 1 Tbsp tahini
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • Big pinch garlic powder or garlic
  • Big pinch sea salt

Method:

Bring a small saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add the peas and cook until just tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and transfer to the bowl of a food processor. Add in the tahini, salt, garlic powder or garlic and lemon juice and pulse into a chunky mash. Thereafter, spread generously (in a thick layer) over your toasted bread and top it up with grated feta cheese ( optional) before serving.

4. Peanut Butter Banana Toast

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of toasted bread
  • Peanut butter – 1/4 cup
  • 1 large banana
  • honey or cinnamon powder to taste

Method:

Onto 2 slices of toasted bread, generously apply a layer of peanut butter. Cut slices of banana and place it evenly all over your toast, drizzle with honey or dash of cinnamon and enjoy! Make peanut butter at home.

2. Avocado Egg Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 avocado seeded and peeled
  • 1 slice whole grain bread or bread of choice
  • 1 egg
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Method:

Toast the bread until golden and crispy, place the avocado over the toast, slice it and gently mash it on top of the toast. ( you can also mash the avocado and boiled egg together and spread it on the toast) Top with sliced boiled or scrambled eggs and season with salt and pepper, to taste.

6. Chocolate Toast

Ingredients:

  • Slice of sourdough
  • Greek yogurt – 1/2 cup
  • Cacao powder – 1 tbsp
  • Nut butter – 1 tbsp
  • Sweetener – 1 tbsp honey, malpe syrup, date syrup
  • Optional toppings: toasted nuts or granola.

Method:

Mix green yogurt, cacao power, nut butter and sweetener. Toast your sourdough bread and spread the chocolate yogurt on top of it. You can also top it off with toasted nuts or granola and enjoy! Make nut butter at home.

5. Hummus Toast

Ingredients:

  • Hummus – 1/4 cup
  • Toppings – sprouts, avocado, eggs or banana

Method:

Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or toaster oven. Spread the hummus on the toast. Add the toppings of choice and enjoy immediately!

7. Egg Toast

Ingredients:

  • slices bread – 2
  • Eggs – 2
  • Feta cheese crumbles – 2
  • chopped parsley or dill to garnish

Method:

Toast the bread of the frying pan, remove it and add little butter. Add in the eggs and feta cheese and cook on medium-low heat, stirring often, for about 3-4 minutes, until the eggs are cooked. Spread the cheese scrambled eggs on the toast and garnish with herbs.

8. Baked beans Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup baked beans
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • hot sauce (optional)

Method:

Into a pan, add in a little butter and when heated, add in the baked beans and fry for a few minutes. Add the baked beans on warm toasted bread slice. Now cook the egg the way you like and spread the egg on the baked beans. Sprinkle some salt and pepper to taste. You can also use a sauce on top and enjoy it hot! Make hot sauce at home.

9. Edamame Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup frozen edamame
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • a handful of fresh basil, plus extra for topping
  • 2 slices of bread, or gluten-free bread
  • salt and pepper

Method:

Bring a saucepan of water to a boil, then add the edamame. Boil for 3-4 minutes or until softened, then drain and add to a food processor along with the garlic, 1 tablespoons of lemon juice, basil leaves, generous pinches of salt and pepper and 2 tablespoons of water. Process until smooth.

10. Smoked salmon Toast

Ingredients:

  • Slices bread -1
  • Cottage or cream cheese – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Smoked salmon
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh dill sprigs

Method:

Mix cottage cheese with lemon juice, salt and pepper and spread it on the toasted bread slice. Place the smoked salmon on top of it. Then sprinkle some salt and pepper to taste and add some fresh dill for garnishing. Make cottage cheese or cream cheese at home.
