Ingredients: 1/4 cup rice (any rice of your choice) and 500 ml water

Then, into a bowl or a container (with a lid preferably) or into a mason jar (preferable), add in the one cup of washed rice and then add in the water. Mix it well or shake it well once you screw on the lid and let it sit for 3-4 hours. Strain the rice and use the water to rinse your face after applying face wash or just spray the water on your face. If you have sensitive skin then dilute the water before using it.

2. Cucumber Water:

You will need: 1 cucumber

How to make:

How to make:

Into a heating pot, add in the water and let it come to a boil. Then, once the water has come to a boil, turn off the flame and add in the rose petals (which should be washed and rinsed properly, under running water). Let the rose petals soak in completely and then cover the pot with a lid. Let this rest for an hour, until the rose petals get infused into the water and you will notice that the color of the water too has changed. 5. Licorice Water:

Ingredients: 3 to 4 two-inch roots of licorice, 1½ tbsp flax seeds ( optional) and ½ cup water

How to make:

Using a mortar and pestle, roughly crush the licorice roots into a few pieces. Then into a heating pot, add in the licorice root, flax seeds and water and boil this on low to medium flame for around 5 minutes, stirring often. You will see that the liquid has thickened into a gel like consistency and the colour has turned yellow. Turn off the flame and let the mixture cool. Then, using a muslin cloth, strain this mixture into a container.

6. Orange Peel Water:

Orange peel water can help reduce acne and breakouts and acts as a natural bleaching agent to promote skin brightening and improve skin tone and complexion. It will help boost skin appearance, protect the skin from damage and acts as a natural skin exfoliator.

Ingredients: 1 glass water and Peels of 2 oranges

How to make:

Into a heating pot, add in the water and orange peels (which should be washed and rinsed properly, under running water) and let it come to a boil. Here’s how to use these face mists:

Wash your face with a mild cleanser and spray this all over your face and let it dry naturally. You don’t need to wash it off.


You can store these face brightening water in the fridge for around 4 to 5 days and use it once a day.
