Shampoos are liquid hair care products that are used for cleansing or hair and can be used to remove build up from the scalp, be it product build up or even dirt and grime. But are these shampoos a hundred percent effective? May be or maybe not, but either way, we can add to its efficacy by adding these additional products into our shampoo and enjoy double its benefits.

SHAMPOO HACKS FOR HEALTHY HAIR GROWTH

Here are some hacks that can enhance the efficacy of the shampoo to reap double its benefits –

1. Adding coconut milk to shampoo:

Coconut milk has been used over the years as an effective hair care ingredient and is one of the most versatile ones. Most people condition their hair with coconut milk before shower and also use it as a leave-in treatment. This is definitely going to be helpful. But there are times when we do not have sufficient time to follow up on this process due to lack of consistency or maybe just even the lack of time to be consistent due to our busy schedules and then this simple shampoo hack can come into use.

How to use: Add in 1 tbsp shampoo, ½ tbsp coconut milk and 1 tbsp water. Mix this well and wash your hair with it like you normally would.

The coconut milk will act as a natural conditioner as shampoos can strip away oil from your hair and therefore adding coconut milk into your shampoo can help coat the hair shaft and help it retain moisture. It can also help reduce frizz, reduce hair fall, reduce dandruff and make the hair look smooth, silky and shiny.

Tips:

  • If you have dry hair, you can also add aloe vera gel into your shampoo.
  • Do not mix the milk into the entire bottle of shampoo. Only mix as much as you want to use for one wash.

2. Adding sugar into shampoo:

This hack maybe new to many, but yes, you read it right! Adding sugar to your shampoo can help exfoliate the scalp and remove dead skin cells, product build up, dirt and grime very effectively. READ MORE – HOMEMADE NATURAL SHAMPOO RECIPES for faster hair growth

How to use: Add in 2 tsp of semi-granulated brown sugar to 1 tbsp of shampoo into a small mixing bowl, mix well and gently massage it into your scalp using circular motions for a minute. It is important that your hair is properly wet before using this mixture.

3. Diluting shampoo with water before use:

Most shampoos are made with chemicals like sulfates that can strip the hair of its natural oils and can also result in hair fall if used too often. So, to reduce over-exposure to these chemicals, but also get the desired hair wash results, diluting your shampoo with water before use can help reduce the effects of the chemicals, but also wash your hair, retaining some of the hair’s natural oils which are required for the hair.

This hack can be used for those who are into sports and fitness exercises or have a naturally oily scalp or live in a particularly over-polluted city and require to wash your hair often.

How to use: Into a mixing bowl (or you could do this in the palm of your hand or directly in your mug while in the shower), dilute one part of shampoo with one part of water and then use it to wash your hair. See that your hair has been properly wet before shampooing it. READ MORE – RICE HAIR GROWTH CONDITIONER CUBES

Tips:

  • It would be better to use most of the shampoo evenly on your scalp first and the remaining on your hair, as the scalp is oiler than the hair itself. When water is poured, the shampoo will anyways seep down to the entire length of the hair.
  • Do not mix the water into the entire bottle of shampoo. Ony mix as much as you want to use for one wash.
