How to make paneer

You will need –

  • Milk – 2 liter
  • Lemon juice – 4 tbsp

To make – In a saucepan add your milk and bring it to a boil on medium flame. When the milk just starts to boil add in the lemon juice and turn off the flame. Stir in the lemon juice gently and wait for the milk to curdle.

If the milk hasn’t curdled then add in 1 tbsp extra lemon juice. Once the milk is curdled and the liquid whey is separated, the next part is to strain it.

Place a strainer over the bowl and add in a muslin cloth or a thin towel. Stain the liquid and collect the curd. Pour cold water over the curd to remove any lemon taste.

Squeeze out all the water by twisting the muslin cloth as much as possible. Keep a heavy object on top of the cloth to drain all the water and set the paneer for 30 mins. Once the paneer is set, remove and cut it into cubes.

Use the paneer in your cooking to make delicious dishes.
