This article has a super simple an easy recipe of an overnight shea butter hair mask that can help make your hair more moisturized, while providing your hair with multiple other benefits as well of course.
Why is a shea butter overnight mask good for your hair?
While we sleep, our bodies get time to repair and rejuvenate itself and this includes our scalp and hair as well. Therefore, leaving on this shea butter hair mask, overnight, is a super good option to help revive hair that is dry, damaged or both, while also tending to other hair problems as well.
Using shea butter for the hair has multiple benefits and here are some of them:
- Shea butter is a perfect moisturizer and can help soothe dry, itchy and irritated scalp skin and reduce dandruff and flaking. The moisturizing properties of shea butter can also help keep the hair moisturized and reduce dry hair and reduce hair damage.
- Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe the skin and reduce damage and skin infections that can otherwise cause damage to the hair follicles inhibiting proper hair growth.
- Shea butter acts as a natural protective layer over the hair strands as it has emollient (hydrating) properties providing it protection and hair repair from damage or dry hair, which can otherwise be a cause for further hair damage or hair breakage. This property of shea butter also protects the hair from heat damage from hair styling tools like flat irons, curling irons and blow dryers and over exposure to ultra-violet (UV) rays.
- Shea butter gets easily absorbed into the hair strands and therefore doesn’t make the hair look greasy and can penetrate right into the hair shaft to provide protection to the hair and promote hair growth right from within.
