It is also an excellent remedy to treat cold, cough, and painful menstrual cramps.

Clever ways to use cinnamon :

Repel Moths – You can use a combination of cinnamon and other spices to help repel moths from your clothes. Fill a small sachet with a cinnamon stick, 1 tablespoon of black peppercorns, and 1 tablespoon of whole cloves. Place the sachet in a drawer or hang it in your closet.

Remove scuff marks – Use cinnamon to erase scrapes, scuffs, and scratches on wooden furniture. Rub a pinch of ground cinnamon on the scuffed area, and watch it disappear!

Repel ants – Cinnamon is often regarded as an effective DIY ant control option. It is believed that cinnamon acts as a natural repellent because ants cannot stand the smell.

Sore throat – A sore throat is an infection of the throat that affects the tonsils, and larynx that can be painful and uncomfortable. Symptoms of a sore throat include difficulty swallowing, redness of tonsils and throat, etc. Cinnamon has anti-bacterial properties. It kills the bacteria in the throat that cause a sore throat to reduce the pain and swelling.

RECIPE FOR CINNAMON MILK

You will need –

  • Almond milk ( or any other milk of your choice ) – 1 cup
  • Cinnamon powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Honey – 1 Tbsp
  • Nutmeg – a pinch

Method –  Into a saucepan, add milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg and warm it up. Remove from the heat and pour the milk into a mug. Add in some honey and sip warm.

Caution – Make sure you are not allergic to cinnamon or honey before you try the above recipe. Use organic ceylon or “true” cinnamon which is better quality and much safer.
