5 NATURAL FACE CLEANSERS for a healthy, clear and glowing skin

Here are five DIY recipes of facial cleansers to make at home:

Brightening Rice cleanser

Rice flour has been used over the years as a skin whitening agent but it also has powerful cleansing properties which is suitable for all skin types, but works even better for those with oily skin type it cleanses the skin and can remove dirt and reduce the effect of tan over time.

Ingredients:

  • Rice flour – ( natural cleanser) 1/4 cup
  • Bentonite clay or multani mitti ( unclog pores ) – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder or neem powder ( anti-acne) – 1 tsp
  • Licorice or vitamin C power ( brightening) 1/2 tsp

Method –

Into a bowl, add in all the ingredients and store it in an air tight container. Add a tsp of the powder in your palm along with water or rose water to make a paste and gently rub them evenly all over your face using circular motions. Leave it on for 2-3 minutes before washing off with plain water.

Anti-acne Honey Face wash

Honey contains essential vitamins and nutrients that can keep the skin hydrated while also exfoliating the skin, soothing dry and irritated skin and promoting the healing of dark spots, tan and acne.

Ingredients:

  • Raw honey ( anti-acne)- 1/4 cup
  • Rose water ( soothe irritated skin) – 1/4 cup
  • Castile soap ( cleanser) – 1/4 cup

Method:

Into a small mixing bowl, add in the castile soap, rose water and honey and mix well. Pour everyting to a glass pump bottle. Apply this evenly all over your face, gently massaging it in for 2 to 3 minutes and let it sit for another 2 to 3 minutes. Then rinse off with plain water.

Sensitive skin Aloe vera and honey cleanser

This cleanser is very mild for your skin and can be used often. Aloe vera when used topically can gently exfoliate the skin, while the honey’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties calm skin irritation. Honey being a humectant can keep the skin moisturized and hydrated at the same time.

Ingredients:

  • Aloe vera gel – 2 tbsp
  • Raw honey – 2 tbsp

Method:

Into a small mixing bowl, add in the aloe vera and honey and mix well. Then apply this evenly all over your face and let it sit for 4 to 6 minutes. Then rinse off with plain water.

 Turmeric glowing skin face wash

Turmeric glowing skin face wash

Turmeric is one of the most versatile ingredients when it comes to skin benefits. It contains antioxidants that can protect the skin and anti-inflammatory properties that can help relieve skin irritation and prevent acne.

Ingredients:

  • Aloe vera or honey (anti-acne) – 1/2 cup
  • Castile soap – 1/4 cup
  • Turmeric Powder ( brighten skin) – 1-2 tsp
  • Face Oil – 1 tbsp ( optional for dry skin)

Method:

Into a small mixing bowl, add in the aloe vera or honey and organic turmeric powder and mix well until it becomes a fine paste. Then add in castile soap and add in any face oil of your choice if you have dry skin. You can use any non-comedogenic face oils. Then apply this evenly all over your face, gently massaging it in and let it sit for 4 to 6 minutes. Then rinse off with plain water.

Gram flour oily skin cleanser

Gram flour is an effective cleansing agent that can help reduce oiliness and keep the skin cleaner and tighter, reducing the effects of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. It can help maintain skin elasticity, prevent wrinkles and sagging while also moisturizing the skin. It helps keep the skin supple. Yogurt can be used for all skin types and it can also treat dry and irritated skin and reduce the effect of other skin conditions.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp gram flour/besan flour ( skin brightening)
  • 1 tsp yogurt ( mild exfoliator)

Method:

Into a small mixing bowl, add in the gram flour and yogurt and mix well until it becomes a fine paste. Then apply this evenly all over your face, gently massaging it in and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then rinse off with plain water.
