HOW TO MAKE GHEE AT HOME:

Things you need-

  • Fresh milk cream
  • Spoonful curd/probiotic capsule

Directions-

You need minimum of 250-500 gms fresh cream. he more the fresh cream, the more would be the quantity of ghee. In Indian homes, it is a routine to boil mil everyday and separate the floating fresh cream and collect it for weeks in refrigerator to make ghee out of it. After you have achieved/collected the desired amount of fresh cream, you need to add culture to it and for that you can use curd or add in probiotic capsule. Mix and let it sit at room temperature on the counter top for 4-5 hours. Once it starts smelling pungent, transfer it to the refrigerator overnight. The next morning, start mixing with a hand whipper or spoon until the butter separates. You can add in some cold water to speed up the process. Strain the butter and separate it from buttermilk. You can now heat this butter until you get a transparent liquid which is called clarified butter or ghee. Store the ghee in a clean container or jar and use it as an when required.
