Do you like to sip on something during the day and are tired of the same coffee and tea? How about sip on some smoothies. They not only taste yum but can also be beneficial to your skin health!
Here are some easy DIY smoothie recipes you can make at home:
Avocado smoothie:
Avocados have healthy fats and are rich in vitamin E and vitamin C which are beneficial to the skin. Avocados have antioxidation properties which can speed up the repair process of skin conditions and help treat acne. It can help prevent skin damage like wrinkles, ageing and skin cancer. It can help people with dry skin and prevent sunburns.
Ingredients:
1 full avocado (pulp)
1 cup milk
1 tsp chia seeds or basil seeds
5 to 8 ice cubes (optional)
Honey (as per your taste requirements)
Method:
Soak chia or basil seeds in water for 10 mins or overnight. In the morning, Remove the seed of the avocado and you can scoop out the pulp or you could even peel the skin of the avocado and then get the pulp. Using a mixer grinder blend the avocado along with soaked chia seeds into a fine paste, to it, add the ice-cubes (optional), milk and honey (as per your requirement) and blend until it has become a liquid consistency. It is then ready to consume.
Tips:
- You can add the bananas as a variation to this simple homemade avocado smoothie.
- You could also replace the milk with coconut water and use the same recipe.
Turmeric smoothie:
Mangoes are rich in antioxidants and can help prevent the skin from sun damage and premature ageing. Mangoes can also support skin health, as they help boost the body’s collagen production. They can also promote a healthy glowing skin with their rich content of beta-carotene and vitamin A.
Ingredients:
1 cup chopped mango or papaya pieces
1/2 cup carrot
1 cup coconut water
(Or chilled vegan milk)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Method:
Into a mixer blender, add in the chopped mango pieces and honey/sugar to taste. Grind until it becomes a fine paste. Then, add in the milk and blend until it becomes a smooth and semi-liquid consistency. Pour into a cup and it is ready to consume.

Vitamin C Smoothie:
Dates contain high content of vitamin C and vitamin D. These vitamins are beneficial to the skin as they help keep the skin nourished and promote a healthy glow. These vitamins can help maintain skin elasticity and prevent premature ageing of the skin and prevent premature signs of ageing like wrinkles and fine lines. Dates can also help maintain a healthy balance of melanin in the skin, by reducing the chances of melanin being concentrated in certain places causing skin pigmentation.
Ingredients:
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup beetroot
4 dates
Method –

Berry smoothie:
Berries are rich in beta-carotene and can help enhance skin glow and complexion, from within, when consumed. It is a rich source of vitamin A and can help keep the skin hydrated as it has low sodium content.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup frozen berries
1 cup cucumber juice
Honey to taste
Method:
Into a mixer blender, add in one medium chopped cucumber with little water. Blend on high and then add in the berries and blend until well combined and the texture is semi-liquid. Then pour into a cup and it is ready to be consumed.
Tip: You can also add in ½ cup chopped pineapple pieces when blending the berries, additional flavour and benefits to the skin, as it contains bromelain, a powerful enzyme that has antioxidant properties that can protect and benefit the skin and prevent it from damage.
Green smoothie
Spinach contains vitamins C, E, and A are especially great for your skin. The predominant benefits include healing damage and providing radiance to the skin. Matcha is rich in antioxidants and is excellent to treat acne. It contains one of the most important antioxidants, EGCG, which helps revive your skin from UV ray damage while fighting free radicals that meddle with collagen production.
Ingredients:
Handful of spinach
1 banana
1 tsp matcha powder
1 cup of milk
Method:
Into a blender, add spinach, banana, matcha powder and grind into a fine paste. Then, add in the milk (you can add in chilled milk or regular milk with ice cubes if you wish to) and blend until properly combined. Pour into a cup and it is ready to consume. You can garnish with banana slices if you wish to.
