NATURAL WAYS TO TREAT DRY HAIR

Here are some all-natural DIY home remedies to treating dry hair, which will help you regain your hair shine and luster.

1. Aloe vera hair serum:

Aloe vera can help to strengthen the hair strands and promote repair to the damaged hair shafts. Agran oil has antioxidant properties that helps improve hair elasticity and increase hair shine.

Ingredient: 3 tbsp aloe vera gel and 1 tsp of hair oil

Method:

Into a jar add aloe vera gel and any lightweight hair oil like argan oil, jojoba or coconut oil. Mix it really well until the gel is combined with the oil. This serum can be used after hair wash to add shine and treat dry, frizzy hair.

2. Honey and olive oil hair mask:

Honey is a natural humectant which can hydrate the hair and can help trap moisture within the hair and help the hair regain its natural hair condition, in turn reducing dry hair and split ends. Olive oil has moisturizing properties which can help make the hair soft, preserve moisture and strengthen the hair by penetrating into the shaft. It can restore hair shine and reduce dryness, as the oil can smoothen the outer hair cuticle.

Ingredients: ¼ cup organic honey and 2 tbsp olive oil

Method:

Into a small mixing bowl, add in the honey and olive oil and mix well until it becomes a fine and smooth paste. Then using an applicator brush or your fingers, partition your hair and apply his mixer all over your scalp and hair (using downward motions for your hair), right until the tips of your hair. Let it sit for 30 minutes before washing off with a mild shampoo and conditioner. READ MORE – RICE HAIR GROWTH CONDITIONER CUBES

3. Hibiscus hair spray:

Hibiscus hair rinse can give the scalp a cooling effect and also stimulates the blood flow on the scalp which can also help in promoting hair growth and increase the production of keratin, a protective protein of the hair, which makes it thicker and avoids it from breaking. It can also treat hair conditions like frizz, dandruff and dryness.

Ingredients: 10 to 15 fresh hibiscus petals and 1 glass water (250 ml water)

Method:

Into a heating pot, add in 250 ml of water and the hibiscus petals (these petals should be washed thoroughly before using it). Boil it until the colour of the water changes and the petals begin to shrink and look soggy. Then turn off the flame and let it sit for some time until the liquid cools completely. Then strain this water into a spray can or liquid applicator can.

How to use:

Use this rinse before you wash your hair. Partition your hair and evenly spray or apply this on your scalp and roots. Gently massage this in for a few minutes. Leave this rinse on for around 20 to 30 minutes. Cover your head with a shower cap, after gently draining out the excess water in your hair. Then wash off with a mild shampoo and conditioner. This rinse can be used once or even twice a month.

4. Add Oil to Shampoo:

Oils are essential for hair growth and can help repair damaged hair and avoid it from breakage, as they contain essential nutrients and proteins. So adding oil into your shampoo bottle can help you keep your hair moisturized and nourish your hair.

Ingredients: 1 cup mild shampoo and ¼ cup of any light weight hair oil

Benefit of using oil: The oil in the shampoo can help condition your hair and decrease its dryness. This could be beneficial for those who frequently style or dye their hair.

Method:

Into a bottle, add in the shampoo and then add in the argan oil or jojoba oil or coconut oil. Shake it well. Store in a cool dry place, not exposed to too much of light, as it will help preserve the olive oil. Shake well before every use. Use it just as normally as you would use your shampoo.
