RICE WATER BENEFITS for skin and hair –

Fermented rice water contains nutrients and is loaded with protein for is essential for healthy hair growth. It contains amino acids and vitamins that help to add volume to your hair and make it grow faster.

Rice water is also amazing for your skin, it acts as a natural astringent to soothe your skin, smooth textured skin, and adds a glow.

Method 1 – Cold Brew Rice Water

To make simple fermented water, you will need –

  • 1/4 cup of organic rice you can use rice of your choice but I like to use basmati rice cause the basmati rice has a nice fragrance and my rice water doesn’t smell bad when fermented. You can also use jasmine rice.
  • 2 cups of filtered water.

Take the rice in a bowl and rinse it under running water to clean it thoroughly. Add the cleaned rice into a bowl and add 2 cups of water to it. Lightly need the rice to release all the nutrients into the water. Close the bowl and let it sit for 3-4 hours. Pour this rice water in a bottle and use it to wash your face for smooth, glowing skin. Method 2 – Fermented Rice Water

Follow the method 1 to clean and soak the rice. After 2-3 hours strain the water into another jar, u need just the water and not the rice, you can use the rice to cook or make a hair mask. Close the lid of the jar and let the water ferment 24-48 hours or for a week. After fermentation place it in the refrigerator until you use it. You can also spray this rice water all over your scalp, leave it on for 30 mins and rinse off with plain water. If you are using fermented rice water on your face then it will be too strong so dilute it with equal amounts of water before using on your face. Method 3 – Cooked Rice Water

To make cooked rice water – Take the rice in a bowl and rinse it under running water to clean it thoroughly. Add the cleaned rice into a jar and add 2 cups of water to it. Lightly need the rice to release all the nutrients into the water. Close the jar and let it sit for 2-3 hours.

In a saucepan, add the rice along with the water and let the rice cook completely. Strain the cooked rice and use this water to drink. Cooked rice water makes an amazing energy drink. You can also dilute the rice water use this water to wash your face in the morning or as a natural face toner.

Method 4 – Rice Milk

Method 5 – Rice Water Cubes

You can make the rice water using the fermentation method or cooked method but once you make it you can only keep the rice water for a week so to make your rice water last really long. Freeze the rice water in an ice cube tray and make it into rice water cubes. These rice water cubes can be kept for up to a month. When you want to use just thaw the ice cubes and use it in your hair and skincare routine. Tips – If your rice water smells bad when fermented use basmati rice or jasmine rice that has a nice fragrance to it. You can add a few drops of essential oil or add green tea bags or orange peel to your rice water when you ferment it. Green tea has a lot of benefits for your hair and infused with rice water it makes your rice water smell really good.
