Honey Lip scrub –

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp jojoba oil or olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar

Method:

In a small mixing bowl take the coarsely powdered sugar and add in the honey and jojoba oil and mix it well. Pour the mixture into a small storage container. Take out a small quantity on the tip of your index finger (and the rest can be stored for future use) and rub it between your index finger and thumb and then gently apply it on your lips and scrub very gently in circular motions for around two to three minutes. Do not be harsh as the lip skin is very delicate and sensitive. After that, gently wipe off with a warm cloth or towel and apply some lip balm or ghee on your lips.

Tip: using of raw or unpasteurized honey would be preferable, if not you can use regular honey got from the store as well.

Please Note: Even though these lip scrubs are edible, do not lick your lips during the exfoliation process as the scrub exfoliates the dead skin cells.

Overnight Honey Lip balm –

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp shea butter or aloe vera gel

Method:

In a small mixing bowl, add shea butter and raw honey and mix well. Take out a small quantity on the tip of your index finger (and the rest can be stored in the fridge for future use) and rub it between your index finger and thumb, so that it softens a little and then gently apply it on your lips in circular motions. Massage your lips gentle to improve circulation and leave it on overnight.

Tip: Using of organic, raw or unpasteurized honey would be preferable as they will have better benefits and effects as they retain all the beneficial properties fully. If not you can use regular honey got from the store as well.

Lip Lightening DIY Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp organic honey
  • ¼ tsp organic turmeric

Method:

In a small mixing bowl add in the turmeric and the honey and mix it well. Take out a small quantity on the tip of your index finger and rub it between your index finger and thumb and then gently apply it on your lips rubbing in circular motions for around two to three minutes.
