Are you a coffee lover and drink way too many cups of coffee on a daily basis? Well, you might want to switch from coffee to other healthy drinks as a substitute, to reduce the caffeine content in your system.

While some of us cannot function without our first cup of coffee, some of choose to have different other drinks instead of coffee to energize us for the day.

Coffee does have some benefits, but like everything else, it does have its fair share of disadvantages as well.

So, I’m going to let you in on some of my favourite healthy coffee swaps!

1. Kombucha

Kombucha is a fermented drink that is made with black tea that is fermented with sugar, yeast and bacteria. After the kombucha is ready and fermented, it becomes rich in probiotics and antioxidants. Thus, kombucha can be beneficial to health.

2. Matcha Tea

Matcha is green tea, but in its powdered form. It is a great source of antioxidants, as it is rich in the compound called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).

It is a good swap for your morning coffee, as it has multiple benefits for health. Drinking matcha can also help promote weight loss and lower the risk of diabetes.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a lesser known and heard of swap for coffee, but is currently becoming a rather popular one. It is made by fermenting apples which are crushed, along with bacteria and yeast. It produces a substance called acetic acid, which is known to be beneficial for health.

It is essential to remember that apple cider vinegar cannot be consumed as it is and has to be diluted before consumption. You can consume about 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a large glass of water (diluted), in a day.

4. Masala Chai

Chai is a blend of herbs and spices in black tea. It does contain caffeine, but in a lesser amount as compared to coffee. It is a healthy alternative to coffee, as it has benefits to health.

It is rich in antioxidants and can help boost bodily immunity. It is also known to improve heart health, aid digestion, improve skin health and can also keep the body energized.

5. Chicory Coffee

Chicory coffee is made from the chicory root. It is a caffeine-free drink and in fact, is known to taste very similar to coffee.

It is also known to be a rich source of insulin and a drink that is good for aiding digestion and supporting better gut health. It also has many other benefits to health.

6. Fresh Fruit Juices and Smoothies

Fresh fruit juices and homemade smoothies are great swaps for coffee. They can help improve energy levels, as they are rich in nutrients and they also contain healthy ingredients.

7. Yerba Mate

Yerba mate is an herbal tea that is naturally caffeinated. It is made from dried holly tree leaves. This is a healthy coffee swap option, while you still can get your daily dose of caffeine.

It is rich in antioxidants, as it has plant compounds. It also contains minerals and vitamins like vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin, iron, calcium, phosphorous, vitamin B6 etc.

8. Hot Water with Lemon Juice

Drinking 1 cup of hot or warm water with juice from half a lemon is a great swap for your morning coffee.

It is caffeine-free and also calorie-free. Plus, lemon juice is loaded with vitamin C and is rich in antioxidants that can keep the body healthy and boost one’s immunity.
