Method 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • (Or 1 inch of finely chopped ginger)
  • Honey to taste (optional)
  • ½ tsp lemon juice (optional)

Method:

Into a heating pot add in the water along with the grated ginger (or freshly and finely chopped ginger) and let it come to a boil. When it starts to boil, lower the flame and let it simmer for a minute or two and then turn off the flame. Strain it into a cup, add some honey and lemon juice to taste (which is optional) and consume it when it is still hot.

Here’s a tip: If you are adding the lemon juice, it is recommended that you add the honey as well, if you are someone who doesn’t like sour tastes.

Method 2 : Vegan ginger tea or vegan adrak wali chai recipe

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 inch fresh ginger
  • 2 tsp black tea
  • 2 Cardamom 
  • Milk – 1/4 cup ( soy milk or oat milk)
  • coconut sugar

Into a suacepan add in the water along with the grated ginger (or freshly and finely chopped ginger) and Cardamom and let it come to a boil for 2-3 mins.

Lower the flame, add in the tea powder and sugar and let it simmer for 2 mins and then turn off the flame. Add in the milk and simmer for a minute. Strain it into a cup and consume it when it is still hot.
