Mug recipes are my absolute favourites, because they are easy to make, simple to put together and they can satisfy my immediate cravings without having to make a whole batch!

From mug pizza, to mug pancake, mac and cheese, pasta, cake, pies, bread puddings, you can literally make anything in a mug! Check out some of my most favourite mug recipes below.

6 Easy Mug Recipes

1. Pizza in a mug       

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp refined flour
  • 1/8 tsp grams baking powder
  • 1/16 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp Grated mozzarella cheese
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp pizza or marinara sauce
  • Toppings of choice

Method:

Into a mug, add in the flour, baking powder and baking soda and salt. Give it a mix and then add in the oil and milk. Mix well and then spread the pizza sauce over the batter. Add in the cheese and then add in the olives and pepperoni along with the seasonings. Microwave for 2 minutes or so (you’ll see the dough has risen and the cheese has melted) and then it’s ready to eat.

2. Omelette in a mug

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 2 slices ham, diced or cheese ( optional)

Method:

Greases a mug with oil and then crack eggs into the mug, add ham, reed bell pepper, spinach, salt and pepper. Beat with a fork to mix. Cook for 2-3 minutes. If you see the mix bubbling out of the cup, stop the microwave, remove the cup out and mix once, place it back into the microwave and cook. Insert a fork into the cup and if it comes out clean the omelette is cooked and ready. If the fork comes out eggy, you need to cook the egg for a minute or two more. Mix it once and place it back into the microwave. Cook until the fork comes out clean.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Method:

Into a cup, add in all the ingredients and give it a mix. Make sure that there are no lumps. Microwave for about 1 to 2 minutes (until risen) and top up with chopped fruits and a drizzle of maple syrup and enjoy.

4. Mug Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup cubed bread pieces
  • 1 small egg
  • 2.5 tbsp milk
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
  • Chocolate chips to drizzle (optional)

Method:

Into a bowl, add in the milk, sugar and vanilla extract and mix well. then, add in the egg and give it a good mix. Lastly, add in the cubed bread pieces, let them get coated with the mixture and pour into a mug. Drizzle with chocolate chips (optional) and microwave for about 1 to 2 minutes, until risen. Enjoy hot!

Note: Drizzle with maple syrup, honey, a dash of cinnakon powder or some whipped cream if you wish to.

Ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup elbow macaroni pasta uncooked
  • pinch salt
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ⅓ cup whole or 2% milk
  • ½ cup finely shredded cheese

Method:

Into a mug, add in the pasta, water and salt. Microwave for 4 mins or until the pasta has cooked. Then, add in the cheese and milk, stir and microwave for 30 seconds until the cheese melts and enjoy!

6. Vanilla or chocolate Mug Cake

7. French Toast in a mug

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp butter
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp syrup
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 heaping cup bread pieces

Recipe –

Place the butter in a large mug or small bowl; microwave until melted (about 20 seconds). Add the egg, milk, syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Whisk with a fork until well blended. Add the bread pieces and gently stir making sure the egg mixture is coated evenly throughout. Microwave for 90 seconds and then check for doneness. Microwave in 20 second intervals after that. It takes about 2 minutes in my microwave, but you may have to experiment.
