Bentonite clay or calcium bentonite clay is nothing but volcanic ash that has great purifying and detoxing properties. It can be used in a number of ways for skin and hair, below are some of our favorite recipes:
Great for oily scalp and product buildup. Detoxes scalp and hair and clarifies it. To make your own detoxing clay shampoo, simply mix 1 tablespoon bentonite clay and enough mild shampoo or baby shampoo or Castile soap to make a paste. Use this as a shampoo once every 2 weeks.
CLAY HAIR MASK
Helps control excess sebum, clarifies scalp and hair and removes product buildup and thereby helps stimulate hair growth. To make a clay hair mask, you need to combine enough bentonite clay and rose water to make a thin mixture. Add in few drops rosemary oil or/and lavender oil for added benefits. Apply n scalp and hair and let it sit for 30 minutes before a hair wash.
Bentonite clay helps detox skin, unclog pores and help fight acne, whiteheads and blackheads. Keeps skin clear and glowing and also helps control oil. To make face mask, mix together enough apple cider vinegar and bentonite clay to make a paste. You can also use rose water instead of apple cider vinegar if you wish. Apply an even layer on facial skin and rinse off after 15 minutes.
Bentonite clay helps detox armpits, control odour and also helps keep pigmentation away. Make a paste using bentonite clay and green tea and use it as a 20 minute underarm mask. Do this twice a week for best results.
Helps with body odor, body acne and excessive sweating and sebum production. Also helps control whiteheads on the back and with ingrown hair. You can make a paste using strong black coffee and bentonite clay and use it as a 10 minute body mask.
