1. Avocado and Toast
This one’s super easy to make. Take a couple of slices of toast and half an avocado. You can slice the avocado into pieces and simply mash them and spread it over your toast. Drizzle with some lemon, salt and pepper and your avocado toast is ready to consume!
2. Strawberries Dipped in Dark Chocolate
Have strawberries lying in the fridge but do not want to eat them plain? Well, what better bedtime snack than some chocolate-covered strawberries? Melt some dark chocolate (or any other chocolate of your choice), dip in the strawberries and enjoy.
3. Peanut Butter and Banana Toast
This one’s easy to make, all you need is toast, peanut butter and bananas. Take a couple of slices of toast, top it up with some peanut butter and thereafter, place chopped banana slices over it and enjoy.
4. Mixed Berry Smoothie
For this, you need a pack of frozen mixed berries. Take a cup of frozen mixed berries, transfer into a blender, and blend with 2 tbsp of milk of choice until smooth and there you have it, a delicious mixed berry smoothie. Top it with honey and enjoy.
5. Chocolate Chia Pudding
This one will take you just a few minutes to make! All you need, is 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder, 1 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of chia seeds, and honey to taste. Into a bowl, add in the milk, the cocoa powder, and the chia seeds and give it a mix.
Set it aside (or in the refrigerator) for 5 to 10 minutes or until the chia seeds bloat and double in size. Give it a mix, and add honey to taste, and enjoy.
6. Oatmeal with Dry Fruits and Nuts
Make a bowl of quick oatmeal and top it up with your favorite chopped dry fruits and nuts. This makes for a wholesome and healthy bedtime snack.
7. Hummus with Vegetable Wedges
If you have hummus at home, then this is the perfect bedtime snack for you. Chop up wedges of carrots and cucumbers; dip them in the hummus and enjoy!
8. Yogurt with Berries
Take a bowl of yogurt and add in chopped berries of your choice. Give it a mix and it is ready to eat.
9. Cheese and Crackers
This one is one of my favorite bedtime and all-time snacks to have! All you need to do is take a few slices of cheese, cut them into quarters and place them over your crackers. You can enjoy them as is or even microwave for a couple of seconds until the cheese melts and then enjoy.
Tip: You can top up your crackers with cheese spread, cream cheese or even sour cream if you do not have cheese at home.
10. Cereal
This one’s a no-brainer, but of course, almost everyone’s all-time favourite. And I know, most of you think it is just for breakfast, but trust me, a delicious bowl of cereal can satiate your hunger when you’re craving something just before bed.
11. Dry Fruits and Nuts
I have to say that this one’s my go-to bedtime snack very often. I take a small bowl, add in a few of my favourite mixed dry fruits and nuts and chomp on it as a bedtime snack.
12. Crackers with Nut Butter
Homemade Cashewnut butter, peanut butter, almond butter or coconut butter are healthy and delicious. Pick any one of your choice, spread them over a few crackers and there you have it, an easy bedtime snack!
13. A Bowl of Mixed Fruit
As for me, fruit is always welcome and I love fruit in any form. But what’s better than a bowl of freshly chopped mixed fruit, right? Well, trust me, it makes for a great bedtime snack and of course, it is super healthy indeed.
14. Apple/Pear Slices Dipped in Peanut Butter
Reading this might be weird, what kind of a food combination is this, right? Well, apple or pear slices dipped in peanut butter is a great food combination and also tastes delicious, trust me on this one!
15. Tuna on Toast
If you’ve got a few cans of tuna stacked up in your pantry, then this one’s for you! take a few slices of toast, spread on some tuna, sprinkle some of your favourite seasonings and enjoy!
16. Devilled Eggs
Devilled eggs are easy to make. Here’s my recipe! Take two boiled eggs, and separate the white from the yolks.
Place the yolks in a bowl and mash them. Then, add in 2 tablespoons of yogurt (or more if you wish to), along with a dash of pepper, salt, 1/4 tsp of dijon mustard, and paprika powder. Give it a good mix, stuff them into the separated egg whites and enjoy!
17. Chocolate Pudding
Add 2 large ripe bananas, 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder and 2 Tablespoon creamy peanut butter to the food processor and process until smooth. Divide into two to four bowls and serve immediately. You can also refrigerate it and serve chilled.
18. Sautéed Pear
Heat a medium, well-seasoned skillet over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp of the coconut oil. Once heated, add sliced pear. Sprinkle the salt evenly over the top and stir, continue to cook until softened, about 3 minutes, adding any extra coconut oil and adjusting the heat to lower if you need to. Once the pear slices are coated with cinnamon, soft and lightly browned, remove from heat. Drizzle some coconut butter on top and enjoy.
19. Chili and Lemon Avocado
Slice an avocado in half lengthwise. Turn and separate the halves. Remove the pit and scoop the flesh out of both halves and into a bowl. Sprinkle with salt, chili powder, lime, and optional cayenne pepper, and stir to combine. Eat with carrot sticks, sprouted grain crackers, pretzels or, a spoon!
