Benefits of drinking this matcha tea:
This antioxidant rich tea contains one other important ingredient apart from matcha and that is – turmeric powder. Together, these ingredients can help boost your immunity and body health immensely.
Here are the benefits of matcha and turmeric for the body:
Matcha:
Matcha contains a type of plant-based compound called catechin, which is formally known as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). These catechins belong to a larger group of plant compounds known as polyphenols, which act as natural antioxidants. These antioxidants can protect the body from free radicals which can cause damage to the body’s healthy cells and in turn prevent the body from developing harmful or chronic diseases.
Drinking matcha tea can also help protect liver health and prevent the risk of developing liver diseases. It can also boost brain functioning, improve memory and enhance concentration.
It can also decrease stress and anxiety, by promoting relaxation. In addition to this, matcha tea can help prevent cancer, as it contains EGCG, a type of catechin that has anti-cancer properties. Matcha tea can also protect heart health by reducing the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL).
Turmeric:
Turmeric can act as a natural detoxifier and helps detoxify the body (as it has diuretic properties), improve one’s cognitive functioning, decreases the risk of cancer, cures ulcers, helps the skin, acts as a blood purifier, gives menstrual pain relief for women and improves one’s overall health.
Turmeric powder also contains an active ingredient called ‘curcumin’, which is a natural compound or polyphenol that is also super rich in antioxidant properties.
