RICE WATER FOR SKIN: HOW TO PREPARE AND USE IT?

Fermeted rice water :
The soaking method is the simplest and fastest way of making rice water. Wash uncooked rice grains in plain water till water runs clean. Soak about 1/4 cup of rice grains in a bowl with 2 cups of water for about 2-3 hours. Mix the rice grains gently into the water while soaking and knead them down using your fingers. After 3 hours, strain the rice and leave the water to ferment the future overnight or for 12 hours. In the morning, refrigerate the water to stop the fermentation. How To Use?

Face and body wash – In the morning, skip the cleanser, instead use rice water to wash your face. Gently pour the rice water on your face to wash your face, leave it on for 5-10 mins and rinse off. Follow up with your skincare routine. You can also use rice water for your body as a final rinse. Pour rice water on our body, leave it on for 5-10 mins and rinse off with plain water.

Face and body mist – You can use soaked rice water instantly as a face toner or you can refrigerate it for about a week and use it whenever required. If you are using it as a face and body mist, make sure you rinse it off with plain water after 30 minutes.

Face mask – You can use fermented rice water on the face post-dilution. Alternately, you can mix it with 2 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp besan to make a DIY face mask for smooth skin that looks radiant.

Boiling The Rice
Cook the rice grains in water the usual way you do for eating purposes. The starchy water needs to be strained and stored in a glass bottle. Allow it to cool down and then seal it tight with the lid and put it in the refrigerator.

How To Use? You can use boiled rice water to prepare soothing masks for dull skin. Mix ½ cup rice water with ½ mashed banana. Add 2-3 drops of castor oil and apply on the face.
