How to make this herbal shampoo at home?
Ingredients
- Amla, Reetha, Shikakai powder mix
- Flaxseeds
- Fenugreek seeds
- Water
Method and usage:
Step 1: Boiling the ingredients
Into a heating pot, add in the amla, reetha and shikakai powder mix along with the flaxseeds and fenugreek seeds. Add in the water and give it a mix.
Then, turn on the heat and let it come to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes before taking it off the heat.
Step 2: Double straining the shampoo mixture
While the mixture is still hot (when it’s just taken off the heat), use a regular strainer and strain the shampoo mixture for the first time.
Then, when the strained mixture cools down a little (and is still warm), use a muslin cloth to strain it for the second time.
Step 3: Storage
You can store the shampoo mixture in a container for future use. You can also pour the shampoo mixture into an ice cube tray, freeze it and once set, you can demould the ice cubes and store them in the freezer, using one or two ice cubes (by thawing them) for every use.
Step 4: Usage
When you wish to use this herbal shampoo, you can pour just a little shampoo into a bowl or mug (about 1 or 2 tbsp) and mix it along with a little water (a couple of tablespoons) to dilute it and then it is ready to use on your hair.
How to use this herbal shampoo on your hair?
Make sure to wet your hair properly under running water and once it is fully wet, lather this shampoo into your hair and scalp and massage your head well using circular motions.
Then, let it sit on your hair for 2 to 3 minutes before you can wash it off thoroughly.
