Whether it is a male or female, getting a pimple is something that is worrisome to anyone! Pimples are small pustules that develop when the sebaceous glands (oil producing glands of the body) get clogged or infected. Sometimes these clogged glands get swollen and filled with pus.

WAYS TO GET RID OF PIMPLES OVERNIGHT

Pimples are often confused with acne or are words used interchangeably. Well, it is important to know that acne is a skin condition or disease and pimples are one of the signs and symptoms of acne. It is most prominent during puberty, but can occur at any age and to anyone, be it on the face, back, chest, neck, shoulders or basically anywhere on the body because of the sebaceous glands.

Here are some ways you can get rid of pimples:

1. Use the tea tree oil spot treatment:

Tea tree essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties and helps soothe the skin and fight inflammation and bacteria.

How to use: Into a small mixing bowl, add in 1 tsp of carrier oil (like coconut oil) with 1 to 2 drops of tea tree essential oil. Mix this well and set aside.

Wash your face properly, let it dry completely and then dip a cotton swab into this oil mixture and dab it over the affected areas. Let it sit for 2 to 3 hours and then rinse off with plain or warm water.

Caution: Tea tree essential oil is very concentrated and cannot be used directly on the skin, as it can cause rash, redness or irritation and has to be diluted with carrier oil before application. Patch testing before usage is advised. If any irritation is caused, rinse off with immediate effect.

2. Benzoyl peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is a bleaching agent that kills microbes and dries up oil in the follicle.  It used to help the skin gently exfoliate its build up of dead skin. It also works towards removing dead skin cells while revealing fresh and brighter skin.

How to use – Use it as a cleanser, it penetrates deep within to unclog pores from oil and surface build-up, without drying out the skin.

The anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric can calm the skin, reduce scarring and prevent further breakouts and clear the already existing scars. The lactic acid in milk can help cleanse the skin and fight microbes and bacteria.

2. Turmeric milk ice cubes:

You will require: 1 glass of milk and 1 tsp organic turmeric powder.

How to make: Into a mixing bowl, add in the milk and organic turmeric powder and mix well. Pour this liquid into ice cubes and freeze.

How to use: Every morning, use these turmeric milk ice cubes all over your face or any affected areas, let it dry for a few minutes and then rinse off with plain or warm water.

Note: You can also use plain ice cubes if you do not wish to use this method.

3. Salicylic acid :

Salicylic acid products not only dry up the pimple and kill any microbes, but also exfoliate the skin on top to let any accumulated puss out of the follicle. Salicylic Acid that effectively controls oil production and acts as a potent anti acne (or pimple) active. Reduces acne and prevents future breakout for clear looking skin.

How to use: You can use Salicylic acid in the form of a face wash, toner or a serum.

4. Aloe vera gel:

Aloe vera has antibacterial properties that can help soothe the skin and reduce skin inflammation.

How to use: You can apply fresh aloe vera gel over the affected area and leave it on for a few hours or overnight and then rinse off with plain water.

5. Try the green tea and honey mask:

Green tea contains catechins that are plant compounds that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce swelling and inflammation and can help improve acne and oily skin. Honey can help cleanse the pores and soothe the skin.

You will need: ½ cup of green tea and 1 tsp honey

How to use: Mix the green tea and honey and apply this mask all over the affected areas. Let it sit for 20 minutes to half an hour. Rinse off with plain water.

Make Matcha Tea to heal acne from within:  

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp matcha
  • A pinch of cinnamon powder
    (Around ⅛ of a tsp)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 cup hot water

Method:

Into a small mixing bowl add in the matcha, cinnamon powder and honey and mix into a fine paste. Add in the hot water and mix well. Sip on the tea warm to heal pimple from within.
