The reason behind blending carrier oils of different types or carrier oils with essential oils is to make the oil more powerful with a lot of benefits to stimulate hair growth and you’ll be able to reap the benefits of each oil that is blended together.
What is the difference between carrier oils?
Carrier oils are base oils that can be used directly on the skin or hair as they are non-concentrated in nature and are extracted by the method of cold-pressing, without the effect of heat or chemicals.
Essential oils are concentrated volatile liquids which are hydrophobic in nature and contain the essence of the plant. These oils are highly concentrated in nature and require to be diluted with a carrier oil and is extracted by the process of distillation.
Can essential oil be used without carrier oil?
Since essential oils are highly potent by nature, carrier oils are used as using essential oils undiluted can be sensitive to the skin, burn and/or cause irritation. These carrier oils (like coconut oil, olive oil etc.) are used to dilute the essential oil or can also be used alone. These carrier oils don’t interfere with the therapeutic properties of the essential oil.
