This glowing skin water contains chia seeds, cucumber, ginger and mint leaves. Here’s how they can benefit your skin.

Chia seeds:

As chia seeds are loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, it can help keep acne at bay, reduce acne scars and keep the skin healthy and radiant. It also has omega-3 fatty acids that can fight skin ageing.

Cucumber:

By drinking cucumber infused water, it will help your skin retain hydration and help flush out the toxins from the body, in turn helping to maintain a good complexion and enhanced skin health. Cucumber can help reduce acne, as it cleanses the body of toxins, from within.

Ginger:

Ginger is one of the most beneficial ingredients when it comes to skin health because it can help flush out the harmful toxins from the body when consumed. It has high antioxidant properties that can promote better skin health and even out skin tone. The consumption of ginger helps promote blood circulation in the body, which in turn helps the skin cells to get nourished and rejuvenated.

Mint leaves:

How to make this glowing skin water?

Ingredients:

chia seeds or basil seeds

small-sized cucumbers

An inch of ginger

mint leaves

A glass of chilled water

Honey to taste (optional)

Method:

Make sure to wash the cucumber, ginger and mint leave well under running water, in order to get rid of any dirt or impurities, as these ingredients are going to be consumed raw.

Since the cucumber is going to be used with the skin, you can rub some salt all over the cucumber and soak them in plain for 10 to 15 minutes before chopping it into pieces to use.

Into a little water (approximately ¼ cup), add in the chia seeds and let them soak for 15 to 20 minutes before using it.

For the drink:

Into a mixer blender, add in the chopped cucumber pieces, an inch of ginger (lightly crushed), and the mint leaves, along with a glass of chilled water, and blend well until liquidy. Strain into a glass and add in some honey to taste. Then, add in the soaked chia seeds, stir well and consume immediately.

Tip:

While blending, you could also just blend in the cucumber, ginger and mint leave into a fine paste before adding in the water and giving it a final blend. This will help get the consistency more liquidy quicker and more easily.
