There are different types of winter drinks that you can choose from, but today I will tell you some winter drink recipes that are not just delicious, but also super healthy that will not only keep you warm but also keep you away from all the common winter ailments like cough and cold. .

1. Turmeric Milk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp ground pepper
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

Recipe :

Into a heating pot, add in the milk and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes or until it boils. Once the milk starts boiling, turn off the heat and add in all the spices. Mix well and strain it into a cup. Add in sweetener if desired and serve warm.

2. Ginger Lemon Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • (Or 1 inch of finely chopped ginger)
  • Honey to taste (optional)
  • ½ tsp lemon juice (optional)

Recipe :

Into a heating pot add in the water along with the grated ginger (or freshly and finely chopped ginger) and let it come to a boil. When it starts to boil, lower the flame and let it simmer for a minute or two and then turn off the flame. Strain it into a cup, add some honey and lemon juice to taste (which is optional), stir and consume hot.

3. Healthy Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp dark chocolate
  • Sweetener to taste – honey, maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla ( optional)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Dash of cinnamon ( optional)

Recipe :

In a small saucepan, combine the milk, cacao powder, dark chocolate sweetener, and a pinch of salt (sometimes I also add a pinch of cinnamon and some vanilla extract). Whisk until smooth. Remove from the heat and pour into a mug. Top with whipped cream and shaved dark chocolate, if desired.

4. Cinnamon Milk

Ingredients:

  • 1cup milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
    (Or coarsely ground 2 one-inch sticks of cinnamon)
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg powder
  • Honey to taste

Recipe :

Into a heating pot, add in the milk and bring it to a boil. Then, add in the cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder, or the coarsely ground cinnamon stick powder and stir well and let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes. Turn of the flame, add in honey to taste, stir well and it is ready to consume.

Note: In case you have used ground cinnamon sticks, then make sure to strain the cinnamon milk drink before consuming.

5. Masala Chai

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tsp tea black tea leaves ( preferably assam tea)
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 crushed cardamom pods
  • Sweetener of choice
  • ¼ cup milk or more if you like

Recipe :

in a mortar and pestle add in all the spices – ginger, cinnamon, clove, cardamom and crush them.

Into a heating pot, add in the water, along with the crushed spices and let it come to a boil. Then, add in the tea powder and let it boil for 2 minutes. Add in the milk and simmer for 1-2 mins before turning off the heat.

Strain into a cup, add in a little sweetener of your choice, give it a stir and consume hot.

6. Ginger Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 21/2 Cups Water
  • 2 Pieces Dry Ginger
  • 5-6 Peppercorns
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 10-12 Basil Leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Coffee Powder
  • Coconut sugar to taste

Recipe :

In a mortar and pestle, crush peppercorns, dry ginger and cumin seeds.

Into a saucepan add in the water, coffee powder, all the crushed ingredients, sweetener and basil leaves. Let it come to a boil and then cover it with a lid and let it simmer for 5 minutes on low flame. Turn off the flame, strain into a cup and consume hot.
