Beetroot:

Beetroot is rich in nutrients and can thereby help strengthen and nourish the hair follicles. When the hair follicles are rejuvenated and strengthened, hair fall reduces considerably and the nutrients can also help promote better and quicker hair growth. Beetroot also helps retain hair colour. Beetroot also contains carotenoids that help promote blood circulation in the body and can increase hair growth.

Amla or Indian gooseberry :

Consuming amla for hair growth has come down the generations because it is rich in vitamin C. Therefore it can help treat and prevent hair fall very effectively. It can also enhance and promote better blood circulation in the scalp in turn, stimulating the hair follicles from within, to increase hair growth. The vitamin C in amla can help promote better hair strength and reduce hair fall.

Curry leaves:

Curry leaves can help open up the clogged hair follicles on the scalp, in turn promoting better blood circulation and improving the growth of the hair follicles right from its root. Curry leaves contain vitamin B which can contribute to strengthening the hair follicles and control hair fall. Curry leaves are rich in protein and can help reduce hair thinning.

1/2 inch ginger

1-2 amla fruits 0r handful of blueberries

6 – 8 curry leaves or celery

1 cup chilled water

Then, peel off the skin of the beetroot and chop them into medium-sized pieces and set aside. Thereafter, scrape out the skin of the ginger and set aside an inch of ginger for use.

You will require to cut open the amla fruits and remove the seed from the center before using them.

For the juice:

Into a mixer blender, add in the beetroot, ginger, amla and curry leaves along with a cup of chilled water and blend well. Strain into a glass and add in some salt to taste. Stir well and consume.

Tip:

While blending, you could also just blend in the beetroot, ginger, amla and curry leaves into a fine paste before adding in the water and giving it a final blend. This will help get the consistency more liquidy quicker and more easily.

Here is a word of caution:

While beetroot is good for hair growth and general health as well, do not over consume beetroot. Having a maximum of 1 medium or 2 small-sized beetroots in a day is advisable and not more because excess intake of beetroot can hinder proper mineral absorption in the body and also lead to gout and kidney stone development.
