Vietnamese coffee recipes are some of the most unique types in the world and are loved by many for their different flavour. So, if you haven’t yet given it a try up until now, its high time you do so!

 Vietnamese Egg Coffee

Here are 5 unique Vietnamese coffee recipes to try out at home:

1. Vietnamese Egg Coffee

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup hot water
  • 2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • ¼ cup condensed milk
  • 1 egg yolk (from a pasteurized egg only)
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence

Method:

Mix the hot water along with the instant coffee powder and give it a stir. Then, pour into a serving glass.

Then, into a mixing bowl, add in the egg yolk, vanilla essence and condensed milk and beat the mixture until frothy (or at least until it looks like batter).

Note: Basically this foam has to float at the top of the glass and you could test this on a glass of water before putting it over your coffee mixture.

Lastly, gently set this mixture on top of the coffee in the serving glass, stir and its ready to consume.

Vietnamese Condensed Milk Coffee

2. Vietnamese Condensed Milk Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml strongly brewed filter coffee
  • 3 tbsp condensed milk

Method:

Into a glass, add in the condensed milk and gently pour in the filter strongly brewed filter coffee (let it gently drip into the glass over the condensed milk, so as to not mix). Once the coffee is poured, you will observe the layers (of condensed milk and coffee). Give it a stir and its ready to enjoy!

3. Vietnamese Coconut Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 100 ml hot water
  • 1 heaped tsp instant coffee powder
  • ¼ cup coconut cream
  • ¼ cup condensed milk
  • 2 cups crushed ice

Note: You can substitute 100 ml of freshly brewed coffee instead of the hot water and instant coffee mixture, in this recipe.

Method:

Into a glass add in the hot water and the instant coffee and give it a mix. Add in the condensed milk and mix again. Let it cool completely and once cooled, add into a blender, along with the coconut cream and crushed ice. Blend until almost smooth and pour into a glass to consume.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/4 cup strong coffee
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice cubes

Recipe :

Into a blender add in all the ingredients

5. Vietnamese Coffee Shake (Sinh To Ca Phe)

Ingredients:

  • 150 ml freshly brewed coffee
  • 2 heaped scoops vanilla ice cream
  • ½ cup crushed ice
  • 1 tbsp condensed milk

Method:

Into a cup of freshly hot brewed coffee, add in the condensed milk and stir in it until well combined. Then, let it cool for a bit. Thereafter, once cooled, transfer into a blender, along with the vanilla ice cream and crushed ice and blend until almost smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy.

 Vietnamese Yogurt Coffee (Ca Phe Sua Chua)

6. Vietnamese Yogurt Coffee (Ca Phe Sua Chua) – Vietnamese Yogurt Coffee is a tasty and unique Vietnamese drink. It has a perfect combination of sweetness and tartness with an addictive aroma and intensity from coffee.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tbsp condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup Vietnamese yogurt
  • 2 to 4 ice cubes

Method:

While the coffee is being brewed, add yogurt and sweetened condensed milk to a bowl and mix gently to combine. Divide the mixture into serving glasses. You can add more condensed milk to taste.

Once the coffee is ready, divide into serving glass. Top with plenty of crushed ice and serve immediately.

Note: Vietnamese yogurt is not the same as regular yogurt, Greek yogurt or plain yogurt and is not to be confused in this recipe.

To make Vietnamese yogurt – Mix 8 cups whole milk, 1/2 cup condensed milk and 1/4 cup whole milk plain yogurt.
